Spanish Grand Prix Preview

It's early days yet, but it has been an absolutely dominant start to the 2019 Formula 1 season for Mercedes as they bring four-consecutive 1-2 finishes in four races into the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend.

Valtteri Bottas has bookended Lewis Hamilton wins with his own victories and is coming off an impressive win at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last time out. Considering just how good the Silver Arrows have performed at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya recently, don't be shocked to see them on the podium once again.

Hamilton has won back-to-back races here and in 2014 while former teammate Nico Rosberg won in 2015. The only car to interrupt the dominance was Red Bull's Max Verstappen in 2016.

Ferrari has found the podium in three-straight grands prix after missing out in Australia but race strategy has been their downfall this season. The car looks good in practice and qualifying but there is certainly something on race day.

With Bottas leading the standings with 87 points and Hamilton one behind, Mercedes really couldn't have asked for a better start. But it's high time Ferrari got their act together and posted big podium finishes, or else this season could be done by the break.
