British Grand Prix Preview

With Silverstone the next circuit up in the Formula 1 calendar, teams further down the pecking order will look to cut into Mercedes' lead in the British Grand Prix after Red Bull and Ferrari scored big points in the Austrian Grand Prix last time out.

It was Max Verstappen of Red Bull and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari getting the biggest haul in Spielberg, finishing P1 and P2 respectively. Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton still holds a massive lead with 197 points while teammate Valtteri Bottas sits second at 166, but Verstappen enters the British GP with 126 while Ferrari teammates Sebastian Vettel and Leclerc have 123 and 105 respectively.

Vettel especially will be keen for maximum points after winning here last year as he put an end to a ridiculous four-race winning streak by Hamilton at Silverstone and a five-race streak by Mercedes as Nico Rosberg won here in 2013.

With just three races left until the summer break, Ferrari and Red Bull will be eager to keep the strong drives coming and make an attempt to create some competition in the standings before it's too late.
