Singapore Grand Prix Preview

Charles Leclerc and Ferrari will look to keep the good times rolling with another strong showing as Formula 1 shifts gears to the Singapore Grand Prix and the Marina Bay Street Circuit on September 22.

Leclerc has won back-to-back races (Belgium, Italy) and now sits just three points back of Red Bull's Max Verstappen for third in the driver standings.

Ferrari has won just two races at Singapore since it was brought back into the schedule in 2008, with Fernando Alonso winning in 2010 and Sebastian Vettel winning in 2015. Since Vettel's win, it's been all Mercedes with Nico Rosberg winning in 2016 and Lewis Hamilton posting back-to-back wins in the last two Grands Prix here.

Leclerc was in the points in last season's race with a ninth-placed finish while Verstappen was closest to Hamilton, finishing just under nine seconds off the pace.

Marina Bay is a tough circuit to navigate and an unforgiving track. There has been a safety car in each Grand Prix since it came back to the calendar and there have been a total of 18 safety cars in 11 races since its reintroduction.

That said, another strong showing from Leclerc and another disappointing one from Verstappen really shakes things up in the standings.
