Another Easy 1-2 Finish for Mercedes in Spain

Mercedes' incredible start to the 2019 season continued in Spain as Lewis Hamilton captured the checkered flag while teammate Valtteri Bottas finished second for the team's fifth straight 1-2 finish in five races.

The team dominated the weekend as Bottas posted the fastest times in two of the three practice sessions (Hamilton posting the fastest time in the other) while the Finn also won the pole, setting a track record in the process. With Mercedes at the front of the grid, it was a relatively easy race as Hamilton got out to a great start from second, passing Bottas at the start and holding on for all 66 laps.

Hamilton's win now puts him in the lead in the driver standings on 112 points while Bottas sits on 105. Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who finished third in Barcelona, now has the third spot in the standings with 66 points.

Up next on the F1 docket is the crown jewel of the racing season: the Monaco Grand Prix.
