Verstappen Wins Thrilling Austrian Grand Prix

Red Bull's Max Verstappen put an end to Mercedes' podium dominance in the 2019 Formula 1 season with a brilliant drive to collect maximum points and win his second Austrian Grand Prix in a row.

With just three laps to go, Verstappen was able to pass Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, forcing him off the track en route to the race lead. The incident was reviewed by race stewards but nothing came of it and Verstappen held on to the points.

Mercedes grabbed P3 through Valtteri Bottas while points leader Lewis Hamilton was all the way down in fifth behind Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.

"It's hard racing, otherwise we have to stay home. If those things are not allowed, what is the point of being in F1?" Verstappen said after the race.

The results certainly give hope to a bit more parity for the remainder of the season as Mercedes has been dominant to date. Other teams will look to spoil the Silver Arrows' parade with more points in the next race, which is the British Grand Prix on July 14.
