Hamilton Wins Seventh Race of 2019 Season at British GP

Another F1 race, another record for Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton, starting from second on the grid at Silverstone, was able to capture the checkered flag to win his sixth career British Grand Prix. That number eclipses both Jim Clark and Alain Prost for the most all-time.

There was plenty of exciting racing going on between the likes of Hamilton and Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen, but a safety car on lap 20 prevented what could have been an even better race.

Ultimately, it was the two Mercedes drivers in first and second and Ferrari’s Leclerc grabbing P3.

The win marks Mercedes’ ninth of the season and Hamilton’s seventh. Hamilton sits on 223 points with Bottas second with 184 and Verstappen third with 136.

Hamilton might be running away with the championship, but with what’s happening between the likes of Verstappen and Leclerc now, there is some thrilling driving on race days.

Next up is the German Grand Prix from Hockenheim from July 26 to 28.
