Ferrari Scores First Win as Leclerc Nabs Checkered Flag

You could hear the entire Ferrari team and fan base breathe a sigh of relief at Spa as Charles Leclerc capped an excellent weekend with a P1 finish at the Belgian Grand Prix to record Ferrari's first win of the 2019 season.

Leclerc finished ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas (P2 and P3 respectively) while teammate Sebastian Vettel took P4. So all in all, a very good weekend for Ferrari as they look to salvage a disappointing campaign.

Driving a largely unblemished race in Belgium, Leclerc dedicated his first career F1 win to his friend Antoine Hubert, who died in an accident in F2 the day before.

The timing of the win couldn't be more perfect for Ferrari with the Italian Grand Prix coming up this week in Monza. Whether it's a simple one-off or whether Ferrari can use this momentum moving forward will be interesting to see at the team's home race.
