Leclerc Wins Ferrari's First Italian Grand Prix Since 2010

A new Formula 1 superstar was born at Monza this weekend as Ferrari's Charles Leclerc won a thrilling Italian Grand Prix. The victory was Ferrari's first win at its home Grand Prix since Fernando Alonso won here all the way back in 2010.

Leclerc, who claimed pole position on Saturday, was able to fend off each of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas throughout the race to win his second straight F1 race after winning the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend.

The Monegasque driver pipped Bottas to the finish line by 0.835 seconds and inched ever closer to Red Bull's Max Verstappen in the drivers standings. Verstappen sits third on 185 points while Leclerc is now fourth with 182 points.

There are now just seven races remaining in 2019 but this is a very exciting step by both Ferrari and Leclerc as the season winds down.

Next up is the Singapore Grand Prix from Marina Bay on September 22.
