Blaney wins Geico 500 in wild finish
The GEICO 500 happened a day late and even had a red flag delay due to inclement weather. However, they finally got the race in and it was Ryan Blaney who picked up the checkered flag, his first of the season, in a wild finish.
The leaders wrecked as they were coming across the finish line, including Aric Almirola, who wound up third, though it was his rear end that crossed the line before his front end. Blaney edged out Ricky Stenhouse Jr. for top spot by just 0.007 seconds in a photo finish to determine the winner.
Next up on the NASCAR schedule is a doubleheader at Pocono Raceway on Saturday and Sunday.
