Southern Mississippi Falls 73-45 Against Iowa State - Game Recap

The battle between Iowa State and Southern Mississippi didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Southern Mississippi was handed a 73-45 defeat on Tuesday at James H. Hilton Coliseum.

Iowa State won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -16.5-point spread as favorites.

Solomon Young had 14 points for Iowa State and Prentiss Nixon chipped in with 13 points. Tyrese Haliburton had 9 assists for them, while George Conditt IV was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 6 boards.

Southern Mississippi got a 10-point performance from Boban Jacdonmi, who was supported by 8 points from Leonard Harper-Baker. Artur Konontsuk had 4 assists in a losing cause for Southern Mississippi, while Boban Jacdonmi grabbed 8 rebounds.

Iowa State was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

Iowa State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 37-32.

Iowa State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Michigan. Southern Mississippi will aim to get back on the winning track vs. William Carey.
