NC State Falls 44-27 to Mountaineers - Recap

Sam James caught 9 passes for 155 yards against the NC State defense as West Virginia handed the Wolfpack a 44-27 loss on Saturday at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

The Mountaineers were a +7.0-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 45.5.

Kennedy McKoy rushed for 66 yards, while Leddie Brown added 35 yards in the win. Sam James and Sean Ryan added 155 and 38 receiving yards respectively.

Zonovan Knight rushed for 72 yards for NC State, while Ricky Person added 52 yards. Thayer Thomas threw for 18 yards for the Wolfpack, while receivers Emeka Emezie and Cary Angeline had 103 and 74 yards respectively.

NC State lost the offensive yardage battle to West Virginia 445-369 yards in Saturday's game. West Virginia had more first downs as that total ended up 25-24.

NC State led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:29-27:31 split in that important category.

Next game, West Virginia takes its act on the road to face Kansas looking for another win. For NC State, they head home to face Ball State.
