Wolfpack Fall 45-24 Against Virginia Tech - Game Recap

The Wolfpack had no answer for Khalil Herbert on Saturday as the Hokies rolled to a 45-24 win at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field.

Virginia Tech won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -6.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 56.0.

Khalil Herbert rushed for 104 yards, while Tre Turner added 53 yards in the win. James Mitchell and Khalil Herbert added 68 and 46 receiving yards respectively.

Zonovan Knight rushed for 94 yards for NC State, while Ricky Person Jr. added 64 yards. Devin Leary threw for 165 yards for the Wolfpack, while receivers Devin Carter and Thayer Thomas had 79 and 37 yards respectively.

NC State lost the offensive yardage battle to Virginia Tech 495-386 yards in Saturday's game. Virginia Tech had more first downs as that total ended up 22-19.

The time of possession battle favored NC State as their offense was on the field for 30:55, longer than the 29:05 of their opponents.

Virginia Tech looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Duke. NC State will aim to get back on the winning track at Pittsburgh.
