Miners vs Warhawks Final: 31-6 - Recap

UTEP's aerial attack produced 302 yards and the Miners produced a 31-6 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday at JPS Field at James L. Malone Stadium.

The Miners were a +9.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 49.5.

Gavin Hardison completed 13 of 25 pass attempts for 302 yards for the Miners in the win.

Josh Johnson rushed for 19 yards for Louisiana-Monroe, while Javin Myers added 6 yards. Colby Suits threw for 184 yards for the Warhawks, while receivers Jevin Frett and Jahquan Bloomfield had 63 and 40 yards respectively.

Louisiana-Monroe was outgained by UTEP 512-193 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 21-6 by the Miners.

Louisiana-Monroe lost the time of possession battle 39:36-20:24, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, UTEP takes its act on the road to face LA Tech looking for another win. For Louisiana-Monroe, they head home to face Georgia Southern.
