Appalachian State Defeats Troy 21-10 - Recap

Troy was unable to contain Darrynton Evans on Saturday and the result was a 21-10 Week 13 loss against the Mountaineers.

The Mountaineers won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -11.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Darrynton Evans rushed for 108 yards, while Marcus Williams Jr. added 58 yards in the win. Corey Sutton and Thomas Hennigan added 72 and 16 receiving yards respectively.

B.J. Smith rushed for 53 yards for Troy, while DK Billingsley added 12 yards. Sawyer Smith threw for 160 yards for the Trojans, while receivers Deondre Douglas and Luke Whittemore had 69 and 34 yards respectively.

Appalachian State outgained Troy 314-232 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 15-13 by the Mountaineers.

Troy lost the time of possession battle 35:30-24:30, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
