Mercedes Gets 1-2 Finish in Spa
It was a 1-2 finish for Mercedes as Lewis Hamilton won the Belgian Grand Prix with teammate Valtteri Bottas finishing second in what was a largely uneventful race at the front.
While Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished P3, the story of the weekend has to be over in the Renault garage. Daniel Ricciardo finished P4 and recorded the fastest lap while teammate Esteban Ocon finished P5 to give the French outfit its best weekend of the season thus far.
The 23 points gained on the weekend has really closed the gap to Ferrari, which sits in fifth in the constructors standings. With Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc finishing 13th and 14th respectively, Ferrari's dreadful season continued in Belgium and the team now has just a two-point lead over Renault.
Next up on the schedule is the Italian Grand Prix at Monza from September 4 to 6.
