Iona got 28 points from Greg Gordon en route to a 94-93 victory over Rider on Sunday at Hynes Athletics Center.
Iona won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -7.0-point spread.
Iona got 18 points from Wheza Panzo and another 17 points from Jeremiah Quigley. Jeremiah Quigley contributed 7 assists, while Greg Gordon cleaned the glass with 6 rebounds.
Rider got a 28-point performance from DJ Dudley, who was supported by 19 points from T.J. Weeks Jr.. Corey McKeithan had 4 assists in a losing cause for Rider, while Tariq Ingraham grabbed 18 rebounds.
Iona was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Rider won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 45-26.
Iona heads into a battle against Niagara. Rider, meanwhile, will have their next action against Fairfield.
