Providence Defeats Xavier 79-75 - Recap

Devin Carter scored 22 points and added 11 rebounds for a double-double, leading Providence over Xavier, 79-75, on Wednesday at Cintas Center.

Providence won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +5.0-point spread as underdogs.

Providence got 17 points from Jayden Pierre and another 11 points from Corey Floyd Jr.. Devin Carter contributed 7 assists, while Devin Carter cleaned the glass with 11 rebounds.

Xavier got 22 points from Desmond Claude in a losing cause and another 19 points from Quincy Olivari. Dayvion McKnight contributed 6 assists for them, while Abou Ousmane had 13 rebounds.

Providence was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

Providence won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 34-29.

Providence looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Marquette. Xavier will aim to get back on the winning track at Marquette.
