Hampton Defeats Campbell 72-68 - Recap

Jordan Nesbitt scored 21 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double, leading Hampton over Campbell, 72-68, on Thursday at John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center.

Hampton won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +9.5-point spread as underdogs.

Jerry Deng had 15 points for Hampton and Tedrick Wilcox Jr. chipped in with 14 points. Tristan Maxwell had 3 assists for them, while Ja'Von Benson was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 14 boards.

Campbell got a 23-point performance from Anthony Dell'Orso, who was supported by 10 points from Laurynas Vaistaras. Anthony Dell'Orso had 5 assists in a losing cause for Campbell, while Anthony Dell'Orso grabbed 7 rebounds.

First-half bettors who backed Hampton were victorious, as the score was 33-32 at the break.

Hampton had a 45-33 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.

Hampton looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Northeastern. Campbell will aim to get back on the winning track vs. UNC Wilmington.
