Tulsa grabbed a 85-83 win over Rice on Saturday, behind a 21-point effort from PJ Haggerty at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Tulsa won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +3.0-point spread as underdogs.
Tulsa got 19 points from Cobe Williams and another 13 points from Carlous Williams. Cobe Williams contributed 6 assists, while Jared Garcia cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Rice got 19 points from Mekhi Mason in a losing cause and another 15 points from Travis Evee. Mekhi Mason contributed 7 assists for them, while Max Fiedler had 11 rebounds.
Tulsa was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Next game, Tulsa takes its act home to face Wichita State looking for another win. For Rice, they head on the road to face Memphis.
