Akron Zips vs Central Michigan Chippewas Recap - Chippewas Win 45-24

David Moore led the way with 316 passing yards on Saturday as the Chippewas picked up a 45-24 victory over the Zips at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

The Chippewas were a -2.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 45.0.

David Moore completed 20 of 31 pass attempts for 316 yards for the Chippewas in the win.

Kato Nelson rushed for 33 yards for Akron, while Brandon Lee added 8 yards. Kato Nelson threw for 241 yards for the Zips, while receivers Nate Stewart and Dustin Burkhart had 78 and 62 yards respectively.

Akron was outgained by Central Michigan 533-329 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 21-16 by the Chippewas.

The time of possession battle favored Akron as their offense was on the field for 31:10, longer than the 28:50 of their opponents.

Next game, Central Michigan takes its act on the road to face Miami-FL looking for another win. For Akron, they head home to face Troy.
