Cougars Fall 35-6 Against Texas - Game Recap

BYU couldn't hang with the Longhorns on Saturday as Texas blasted the Cougars 35-6 in Week 9 action at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium/Jamail Field.

The Longhorns were a -20.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 49.0.

Jonathon Brooks rushed for 98 yards, while Jaydon Blue added 44 yards in the win. Adonai Mitchell and Jonathon Brooks added 59 and 40 receiving yards respectively.

Aidan Robbins rushed for 56 yards for BYU, while Deion Smith added 18 yards. Kedon Slovis threw for 197 yards for the Cougars, while receivers Darius Lassiter and Keelan Marion had 75 and 30 yards respectively.

BYU was outgained by Texas 354-292 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 17-16 by the Cougars.

The time of possession battle favored BYU as their offense was on the field for 33:06, longer than the 26:54 of their opponents.

Texas heads into a Week 10 battle against Kansas State. BYU, meanwhile, will have their next action against West Virginia.
