Miners Fall 42-28 Against Liberty - Game Recap
The Flames grabbed a Week 13 victory over the Miners on Saturday, winning 42-28 at Sun Bowl.
The Flames won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -17.5-point spread. OVER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an OVER play.
Quinton Cooley rushed for 83 yards, while Aaron Bedgood added 82 yards in the win. CJ Daniels and Billy Lucas added 12 and 8 receiving yards respectively.
Mike Franklin rushed for 40 yards for UTEP, while Daryon Triche added 21 yards. Kevin Hurley threw for 57 yards for the Miners, while receivers Kelly Akharaiyi and Emari White had 109 and 54 yards respectively.
Liberty outgained UTEP 469-271 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 24-13 by the Flames.
The time of possession battle favored Liberty as their offense was on the field for 36:23, longer than the 23:37 of their opponents.
