Carolina outgained Atlanta 281-221 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 20-13 by the Panthers.
The time of possession battle favored Carolina as their offense was on the field for 34:41, longer than the 25:19 of their opponents.
Atlanta heads into a Week 2 battle against the Packers. Carolina, meanwhile, will have their next action against New Orleans.
